THE ART OF JAMES BIRD

THE ART OF JAMES BIRD

I’m James Bird, a tattoo artist with twenty years of experience, originally from Melbourne, Australia.

Since 2017 I have worked in British Columbia, within the greater Vancouver area.

I am currently a Vancouver, BC based tattoo artist working at Sacred Heart Tattoo, which is one of Vancouver's premier tattoo shops.

I am sponsored by Good Guy tattoo supply and Inklab Tattoo Machines.

My travels as a member of these teams, have given me the opportunity to work with some of the best tattoo artists in Canada and the world alike.

I specialize in contemporary Japanese inspired tattooing based on traditional Irezumi motifs, but also enjoy working in a range of illustrative styles.

A GREAT TATTOO STARTS BEFORE WE EVEN MEET.

Creativity is a constant driving force for me. I have been drawing and creating things as long as i can remember.
When I'm not tattooing or working on designs for existing clients, you can find me working on creative projects in a variety of mediums, including; digital art, painting, laser engraving, digital sculpture and 3d printing.
I sell fine art prints and hand finished 3d printed sculptures worldwide.
I also create dynamic designs for clothing and have collaborated with internationally recognized brands as well as producing my own line of clothing.
Working in other mediums keeps me inspired and allows me to bring lessons learned and new ideas back into tattooing. Every new project brings a new perspective that allows me to approach future projects in new and exiting ways.
